Fraction Common Denominator Calculator
Convert two fractions to have the same denominator. Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) and equivalent fractions.
💡What is a common denominator?
A common denominator is a shared multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions. To add or subtract fractions, you must convert them to have the same denominator. The Least Common Denominator (LCD) is the smallest of these shared multiples.
Example: For 1/2 and 1/3, the LCD is 6. Convert to 3/6 and 2/6.
Why are negative inputs not supported?
This calculator focuses on finding the common denominator for positive fractions. Negative numbers are not required here because the common denominator depends solely on the positive integer values of the denominators. You can calculate using positive numbers and apply the sign to the final result.
